Do you have an idea you're ready to bring to life, develop into a business, charity or social enterprise? if your answer is YES, this is for you!
The School of Applied Sciences (SoAS) Enterprise Competition is our enterprise ideas challenge for students, with exciting prizes donated by the department in partnership with the UWE Bristol Enterprise team. This competition aims to create and foster an environment where SoAS students can develop and demonstrate knowledge, abilities, and skills essential for various career pursuits. It is also a great opportunity for students to test ideas in a safe space and turn these ideas into practical solutions.
The School of Applied Sciences invites all undergraduate and postgraduate students in SOAS (School of Applied Sciences) to take part in the Enterprise Challenge—a chance to transform your concept into a thriving business, charity, or social venture.Â
This challenge is open to all areas of endeavour, whether social, business, scientific, community, or technological.
There are two main prizes for this competition, which include a combination of cash awards, business mentoring and support, physical spaces for the winning team and marketing.
The submission deadline is on Friday, 20th March 2026. There will be an advisory session on Wednesday, the 4th of March 2026, at 1 pm. Mark Your Calenders and Get Involved.
Look out for the invitation from Faatihah Niyi-Odumosu.

We will assign mentors to the shortlisted entries to provide advice and support to prepare for the final pitching event.
The enterprise challenge competition final will be held on Friday 1st of May 2026. The shortlisted competitors will be asked to give a pitch (presentation) to the judging panel for no more than 10 minutes. It is expected that the presentations will be delivered on the day and can be presented by the individual, nominated team member or full team.
